ORAI Fox core members win national first prize and HiSpark Best Application Award

A team of Shenzhen Technology University students and ORAI Fox core members won national first prize and the HiSpark Best Application Award for a smart meeting room system built on OpenHarmony and RISC-V.

The national finals of the ninth National Undergraduate Embedded Chip and System Design Competition (2026) have concluded. A team of Shenzhen Technology University students and ORAI Fox core members won first prize in the chip application track and the HiSpark Best Application Award for “A Smart Meeting Room System Based on OpenHarmony and RISC-V.”

Two honors at the national finals

The competition encourages university students to develop innovative embedded chips and systems through engineering practice. In this year's HiSilicon challenge within the chip application track, 57 teams entered and 14 advanced to the national finals. The team earned recognition for a complete meeting-room solution encompassing system design, hardware-software integration and an on-site demonstration.

The two awards recognize the team's embedded-system engineering capabilities and the potential of OpenHarmony and RISC-V in smart-office applications. The HiSpark Best Application Award places particular emphasis on open sharing and commercial application, supporting the transition from competition projects to real-world use.

A smart meeting system

Built on OpenHarmony and RISC-V, the project brings together meeting information displays, terminal coordination and on-site management. ORAI Fox nameplates serve as the display terminals, presenting participant names, affiliations, agendas and seating information in a consistent digital format.

The solution combines a domestically developed operating system, chip architecture and e-paper terminals. Alongside the competition work, the project tested how these technologies fit into real meeting environments.

Engineering through practice

At the finals, the team demonstrated the system architecture, terminal displays and meeting applications. ORAI Fox nameplates presented seating information and meeting content. The complete process, from solution design and hardware-software development to on-site deployment, added to the team's practical experience in embedded systems and smart meeting products.

Continuing to innovate

The awards mark another outcome of the core team's university innovation work and its exploration of domestically developed technologies. ORAI Fox will continue developing smart meeting terminals and practical applications around OpenHarmony, RISC-V and e-paper displays, supporting secure, efficient digital offices with greater control over their core technology.
